Place DataGroup Annotation
The DataGroup Annotation tool places active annotation symbol cells. Three methods of placement are available, one for placing individual symbols along with two methods for placing multiple symbols that generate lists and schedules.
Accessed from:
The single placement method requires you to click on an element with valid datagroup properties, prompting the appropriate cell to display as specified in the Annotation Parameters dialog. The cell appears dynamically on the pointer and is placed with a second data point. The cell origin is placed at the location where the placement data point is entered and the angle of placement is controlled by the active angle.
Note: The Place DataGroup Annotation command works across attached reference files.
For example, when a 3D model is attached as a reference to an open design file, you can place datagroup annotation cells when selecting valid elements in the reference file. When updates are made to datagroup instance data in the 3D model, datagroup annotation cells in the open DGN file are also updated. Updates to datagroup annotation cells also occur when the DGN file containing them is opened.
Dependency linkages across reference files, between datagroup annotation cells, continue as long as reference files remain attached. Reference files that are detached and then reattached loose dependency linkages between datagroup annotation cells.
